BORDERS
Maintaining proper border thickness in your design is imperative to maintaining the border’s symmetrical appearance.
Our print machines are very accurate, however, trimming a perfectly straight line is next to impossible. Our printers have a mechanical tolerance of about .0625” or 1/16 of an inch. Therefore, if your design uses at least 0.25” or 1/4 of an inch of white space from your border to the trim line, it will maintain a symmetrical appearance despite any minor deviations.
Overall, any text or essential parts of your artwork should not come within 1/16" of the trim line as the mechanical tolerance limits of our machines cannot guarantee that these areas will not be cut off.
If you will be using a solid border that bleeds to the edge of the card, please comply with our bleed instructions. Solid borders should be at least 0.25” or ¼ of an inch think to maintain their symmetrical appearance.
